How can we quality assure our RSE?
Internationally and locally, Quality Assurance of RSE has been approached in a variety of ways. The numerous structures include:
- Following a “national” or “local” curriculum;
- An RSE educator training and certification programme;
- Kite-marking and quality marks;
- Award schemes;
- Training programmes;
- Checklists and published guidance.
The key progressive actions to quality assure RSE are:
- Identifying Quality – using evidence based criteria
- Recognising Quality – awards or quality marking systems
- Building capacity – increasing educator confidence and competence.
The RSE Hub is committed to Quality Assured RSE and is developing a variety of approaches to support educators and providers of RSE to ensure high quality relationships education for the children and young people they work with.
